Who is this for?
Any organization that uses AI and needs to demonstrate a defensible governance program, including those extending a common standard across their supply chain. It’s completed by your team and signed by your accountable executive.
What kind of assurance does certification provide?
AI Governance Essentials is an attestation. Your team completes the controls, your accountable executive signs, and ECI reviews your submission against each control’s requirements to confirm your evidence is present and responsive. It demonstrates a governed, documented AI program aligned to leading frameworks. It is not an independent audit of how your controls operate day to day, and it is not a determination of legal compliance with any law or framework.
Is my submission reviewed by ECI?
Yes. Before your certification issues, ECI reviews your submission against the requirements for each control, confirms your evidence is present and responsive, and follows up with you on anything missing. Our review pairs ECI’s standard with technology-assisted checks, so it’s rigorous and fast.
What are the Bronze, Silver, and Gold tiers?
Three cumulative certification tiers. Bronze is the five foundations of a credible program; Silver adds operational practices like vendor diligence and incident response; Gold adds controls for high-risk and agentic AI. You choose your tier inside the assessment and can upgrade at any time.
How long does it take, and how does it work?
It’s guided and self-paced. Work through the plain-language controls, upload your evidence or reference where it lives, and save as you go. When a tier is complete, your accountable executive reviews the record and signs, attesting that the controls and evidence are accurate to the best of their knowledge. That sign-off is the foundation of the certification.
How long is the certification valid?
12 months. You can upgrade to a higher tier at any time; your accountable executive simply re-signs and your registry listing moves up.
How do I receive my badge and certificate?
After you submit, ECI completes its review. Once confirmed, your certification number and expiry are populated, your completed report is delivered, and your badge and certificate are issued and listed on the public registry via Accredible.
